Hose Safety Whip Checks, also known as "Air hose safety cables", are an easy to use and low-cost safety product to prevent injury if a hose disconnects under high pressure.

A pressurized air hose could cause the hose assembly to whip with extreme force due to the sudden release of energy in the case of a hose failure or accidental uncoupling. In the event of the hose whipping, it can be fatal and could cause a potentially dangerous accident. To prevent such a situation from occurring, Hose Safety Whip Checks have been designed to ensure operators and job sites are safe and prevent injury and possible infrastructure damage.

Whip checks are used at all blast hoses for the safe holding of coupled connections in case of accidental separation. The Whip Check Safety Cables not only relieve the couplings of the weight of the hose and reduce the danger caused by hose couplings failure but also help keep the blast hose from whipping about in the event of a coupling failure.

Whip Checks can be attached hose to hose or hose to tool (coupling connections). They are generally made of galvanized carbon steel, with high strength and resistance to rust and corrosion.

There are some tips for Installation of the Safety Whip Checks:

• The installation of a Safety Whip Check requires no tools.

• Attach blast hose safety cables at all coupled connections. Before connecting the couplings, pull back the spring-loaded loop, and slip it over the blast hoses only (not the remote control lines). Connect the hose coupling and slide the ends of the safety cable back until the cable is straight and the hose is slightly bent.

On hose to hose applications the Safety Whip Checks should be installed in a fully extended position with no slack

Maximum working pressure is 200 PSI.

The selection of the proper hose, coupling and retention device, and the proper application of the coupling to the hose are of utmost importance. Users must consider the size, temperature, application, media, pressure, and hose and coupling manufacturer's recommendations when selecting the proper hose assembly components.

BSTEC is available in the sizes of the hose safety whip checks as below. Welcome to consult and inquiry.
